Job summary

Scalabrini Communities in Sydney is seeking an Accountant who blends attention to detail with a customer-focused approach to make a difference. This is a maximum 6-month contract across a range of accounting functions.

You will work with our Finance team to support accounts receivable, reconciliations, government funding claims and month-end processes, plus variance analysis and audit preparation.

Qualifications

• Experience in accounting roles with reconciliations and month-end processes.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and general software usage.

Responsibilities

• Support a range of accounting functions within Finance and with stakeholders.
• Process and reconcile accounts receivable and resident accounts.
• Prepare month-end journals and GL reconciliations.
• Assist with government funding claims and payroll reporting.
• Contribute to variance analysis and monthly reporting.
• Support audit preparation and maintain accurate records.

This is a maximum 6-month contract opportunity, supporting a range of accounting functions across Scalabrini Communities.

What you’ll do

You’ll support a range of accounting functions while working closely with our Finance team and internal stakeholders. Your day-to-day will include:

• Supporting Accounts Receivable, cash management and resident account reconciliations.
• Processing and reconciling government funding claims.
• Supporting fixed assets and payroll reporting.
• Preparing month-end journals and completing General Ledger and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Assisting with variance analysis and monthly reporting.
• Supporting audit preparation and maintaining accurate financial records.
• Working with internal teams to resolve financial and resident account queries.
• Following financial policies, procedures, internal controls and governance requirements.
• Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.

What you’ll bring

• Previous experience in an accounting role, with experience across reconciliations and month-end processes.
• Relevant accounting qualifications or equivalent experience.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
• A collaborative, flexible and can-do attitude.
• Experience in aged care, health or not-for-profit is highly regarded.
• Experience with Epicor Cloud, iCare or Services Australia is desirable.
