Job description

Macquarie Health Corporation (MHC) is the fourth largest for-profit operator of private hospitals in Australia. We have 12 facilities located across New South Wales and Victoria.

The Opportunity

We are recruiting a mid-level Accountant with systems experience to work with the business executives to improve the financial performance of the Group’s hospitals. Reporting to the Group Finance Director, you will be responsible for:

Key Responsibilities:

· Prepare monthly management reports with performance metrics and variance analysis. Identify ways to improve reporting systems to increase accuracy, efficiency and productivity.

· You will play a critical role in reviewing monthly performance results, engaging with Hospital Department Managers to understand performance drivers and delivering insightful commentary to senior and corporate managers.

· You will be involved in preparing quarterly forecasts, annual budgets, and management reporting, providing variance analysis and highlighting key insights to senior leadership.

· You will drive continuous improvements to the company's financial planning and analysis processes, identifying and implementing process enhancements that increase accuracy, efficiency, and effectiveness.

· You will track key performance indicators (KPIs) for critical business drivers and metrics to monitor performance and identify trends, enabling the business to make data-driven decisions.

· You will work closely with other members of the Hospital Senior Managers, Corporate Managers and the Corporate Finance team.

· Act as a financial corporate partner or buddy to internal and external stakeholders, including corporate managers, senior managers at the hospital and the corporate finance team.

· Work with business executives to develop relevant Business Plans for the respective business units.

About you:

· 3-5 Years of experience in management accounting, financial analysis or similar

· Bachelor's degree with CPA or CA qualification or a related discipline

· Accounting experience in multi-site operational businesses, preferably within the private hospital or healthcare sector

Skills:

· Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

· Strong experience with ERP systems (eg Technology One or equivalent), particularly with developing financial and operational reports using business intelligence systems.

· Strong experience in Microsoft Excel and Word

· Superior verbal and written communication skills

Attributes:

· A proactive approach to process and system improvement.

· Ability to balance competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

· Experience with multi-site or franchise operations is an advantage.

Further Information

This is a permanent, full-time role. The position is based in Leichhardt with occasional travel to the hospitals as required.
