Job description

Ringers Western is one of Australia’s fastest-growing country wear brands, known for our iconic products, loyal community, and rapidly expanding retail and online presence.

We are seeking an experienced Accountant to take ownership of our core finance functions and work closely with the Financial Controller to strengthen the financial backbone of the business. This is a hands-on, high-impact role where you will manage key accounting processes, oversee payroll, ensure compliance, and provide actionable insights that support strategic business decisions.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and process month-end journals, accruals, reconciliations, and financial reports
• Conduct balance sheet reconciliations
• Maintain cash flow projections
• Assist with the preparation of year-end financial statements, statutory reporting, and external audits
• Oversee end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring compliance with legislation and awards
• Maintain payroll records, employee entitlements, superannuation and PAYG reporting
• Ensure accuracy and compliance in AP/AR, supplier payments, and debtor management
• Maintain fixed asset registers and lease schedules
• Support the continuous improvement across the finance function
• Collaborate with department heads to prepare budgets, forecasts, and provide actionable financial insights
• Contribute to systems enhancements, ERP optimisation (NetSuite highly regarded) and automation projects

Requirements:

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline
• 3+ years’ accounting experience (public practice accounting experience also desirable)
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and financial reporting experience
• Proven track record with payroll processing, compliance, and reporting
• Advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills with ability to analyse and interpret data
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills – able to communicate financials clearly to non-finance teams
• High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail
