Moreton Hire in Brisbane seeks an experienced accountant to lead the finance workstream for a major ERP implementation and then run core finance operations on the new platform, on-site at Rochedale.

You will design the COA, oversee data migration and go-live readiness, manage month-end close and reporting, train staff, and ensure accuracy across AP, AR, payroll and GST/BAS as the business transitions to the new system. This permanent role offers real ownership and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• CA or CPA qualification required.
• 3+ years of accounting experience including month-end and reconciliations.
• Hands-on ERP implementation or system migration experience.
• Cloud ERP experience is highly regarded.
• Strong Excel skills and data accuracy.
• Good communication with finance and non-finance teams.

Moreton Hire is a long-established Brisbane business supplying infrastructure and services for projects across Australia. We're growing, and we're investing in our systems to match. We're moving to a new platform, and we're looking for an accountant to help lead that change and then run core finance operations on the new system.

The role

This is a hands-on role with two parts. In the first phase, you'll be our in-house lead on the finance side of the ERP implementation, working with our implementation partner and the wider business. After go-live, you'll own key day-to-day finance functions and make sure the system keeps working well for the business.

What you'll do

• Lead the finance workstream of the ERP implementation, including chart of accounts design, data migration and cleansing, user testing, and go-live readiness
• Reconcile and validate opening balances and migrated data
• Design finance processes, controls and workflows that make the most of the new platform
• Train and support staff across the business as they move to the new system
• Own month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, and management reporting
• Support AP, AR, payroll processing, GST/BAS and other compliance as needed
• Act as the ongoing finance owner of the ERP: configuration, reporting and continuous improvement

About you

• CA or CPA qualified
• 3+ years of accounting experience, including month-end and reconciliations
• Hands-on experience with an ERP implementation or system migration
• Cloud ERP experience is highly regarded
• Strong Excel skills and a good eye for data accuracy
• A practical problem-solver who communicates well with both finance and non-finance people

Please note:

This is a full-time, on-site role based at our Rochedale premises, five days a week. We are not offering remote or hybrid arrangements for this position.
