Job summary

Yield Advisory is searching for an Accountant to join our Fortitude Valley head office in Brisbane. This role offers the chance to move beyond traditional compliance and gain meaningful exposure to business advisory, budgeting, forecasting, and tax planning.

You will work across a diverse client portfolio, building technical accounting and tax skills while engaging with clients and senior team members to understand how financial information drives better business decisions.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in public practice accounting.
• Accounting qualifications or currently pursuing degree.
• Strong written and verbal communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Preparation of financial accounts and income tax returns for entities and individuals.
• Preparation of compliance workpapers.
• Div 7A loan calculations.
• Preparation of tax planning and opportunities for clients to manage tax obligations.
• Management of individual job budgets and deadlines.
• Assisting with management reporting, budgeting, forecasting and cash flow analysis.
• Supporting senior team members with business advisory engagements.
• Identifying trends, risks and opportunities within client financial information.
• Increasing direct client interaction as skills develop.

About the role

This is an excellent opportunity for an Accountant who wants to develop beyond traditional compliance work and gain meaningful exposure to business advisory.

You’ll work across a diverse portfolio of clients, building your technical accounting and tax skills while also gaining exposure to management reporting, cash flow, budgeting, forecasting, tax planning and broader business advisory engagements.

As you develop, you’ll have the opportunity to work directly with clients and senior team members, gaining a deeper understanding of how businesses operate and how financial information can be used to drive better decisions.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparation of financial accounts and income tax returns for companies, partnerships, trusts and individuals

• Preparation of compliance workpapers

• Div 7A loan calculations

• Preparation of tax planning and identification of opportunities to assist clients in managing their tax obligations

• Management of individual job budgets and deadlines

• Assisting with management reporting, budgeting, forecasting and cash flow analysis

• Supporting senior team members with business advisory engagements

• Identifying trends, risks and opportunities within client financial information

• Increasing direct client interaction as your skills and experience develop

About you

We’re looking for someone who is technically capable, curious and keen to build their career beyond simply preparing accounts and tax returns.

You will ideally have:

• 2+ years' experience in public practice accounting

• Relevant accounting qualifications or be currently completing your degree

• A positive, proactive and innovative attitude

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Excellent teamwork skills, with the ability to also work autonomously

• A genuine desire to learn and take on new challenges

• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing deadlines

• An interest in developing your skills in business advisory and client-facing work

• Experience with Xero and cloud accounting systems will be highly regarded
