About the Role
We are seeking a motivated Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a relevant accounting or business degree and approximately two years’ experience who is looking to develop their skills across a broad range of accounting functions in a busy, multi-entity environment.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Processing and entering supplier invoices across multiple entities
- Generating purchase orders and processing payments
- Accounts receivable reconciliations and invoicing internal charges
- Processing ABA payment files and staff reimbursements
Reconciliations & Month-End
- Weekly bank and credit card reconciliations
- End-of-month checklist and close procedures
- Intercompany loan reconciliations
- Superannuation, PAYGW and GST reconciliations
- Tracking individual profit and loss for each job
- Work-in-progress (WIP) journal entries
Payroll
- Fortnightly payroll processing across multiple entities
- Recording payroll journals in accounting software
- Quarterly superannuation payments
- Liaising with external advisors on BAS, PAYG and RTWSA obligations
Compliance & Reporting
- Preparing and reviewing quarterly BAS transactions
- Responding to company tax return and compliance queries
- Job cost tracking and reconciliation against accounting system
- Cashflow monitoring and support
General Finance & Administration
- Monitoring and managing accounts email inboxes daily
- Updating job sheets with payable invoices
- Managing chart of accounts and adding new job codes
- Supporting the Finance Manager and broader finance team
About You
- Relevant degree in Accounting, Finance or Business
- Approximately 2 years’ experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive, team-focused attitude
- Comfortable working across multiple entities and company structures
Systems & Software
Experience with any of the following will be highly regarded:
- Microsoft Dynamics Business Central (BC)
- Microsoft Excel — intermediate to advanced
- Asana or similar project management tools
