Job summary

Job description

Wicked Campers is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Accessory Fitter to join our team on a full-time basis at our Woolloongabba, QLD location. In this role, you will be responsible for the professional installation and fitting of a wide range of accessories and components on our campervan fleet. This position is integral to maintaining the high quality and standards that our customers expect from Wicked Campers vehicles, ensuring every vehicle leaves our facility in pristine condition and ready for adventure.

Key responsibilities

• Installing and fitting accessories such as roof racks, awnings, fridges, solar panels, water systems, and other campervan components to specification
• Reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and installation manuals to ensure accurate fitting of accessories
• Conducting quality checks on all installations to ensure they meet company standards and safety requirements
• Using hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment safely and effectively
• Troubleshooting and resolving any fitting issues or complications that arise during the installation process
• Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe work environment in compliance with health and safety regulations
• Communicating with team members and management regarding job progress, delays, or any concerns
• Documenting completed work and maintaining accurate records of installations
• Assisting with the sourcing and inventory management of accessories and fitting materials as needed

What we're looking for

• Proven experience as an Accessory Fitter, or similar automotive trades role, preferably 2+ years in a related field
• Strong proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and specialised automotive fitting equipment
• Solid understanding of automotive systems and components, including electrical, and structural elements
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, diagrams, and installation manuals accurately
• Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality workmanship
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
• A valid driver's licence and reliable transport
• Physical fitness and the ability to work in various positions for extended periods
• A safety-conscious mindset with knowledge of workplace health and safety standards
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Relevant automotive qualifications or certifications (advantageous but not essential)
