Job summary

Endeavour College of Natural Health is seeking an Academic Coach to support student success across our Victorian and NSW campuses. You will provide targeted coaching, support students at academic risk, and develop strategies to improve engagement, retention and progression.

The role involves creating online resources, delivering webinars, and collaborating with the Academic team to enhance learning outcomes in a hybrid, permanent full-time capacity.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting students in higher education settings.
• Experience in online teaching and developing online learning resources.
• Ability to develop students’ study, research, writing and self-management skills.
• Experience identifying and responding to academic risk and implementing support strategies.
• Understanding of inclusive student support practices for diverse cohorts.

Responsibilities

• Provide tailored academic coaching to develop study skills, time management, research, writing and self-management.
• Identify and support students at academic risk through monitoring progress and collaborating with staff.
• Develop, monitor and review Reasonable Adjustment Plans (RAPs) with academic staff.
• Support students from diverse equity groups by connecting them with appropriate services.
• Develop online academic support resources and deliver webinars to improve engagement and success.
• Monitor and report on student outcomes and contribute to improvements in teaching and assessment.

Job Description

Permanent, Full-time* & Hybrid Working
Location: Any of our Victorian or New South Wales campuses

Reporting to the Dean – Higher Education and working as part of the Academic team, the Academic Coach supports student success priorities by providing targeted academic coaching, proactive support for students at academic risk, and tailored strategies that strengthen student engagement, confidence, retention and progression.

Key Responsibilities will include:

• Providing tailored academic coaching to develop students’ study skills, time management, research, academic writing, confidence and self-management, particularly for students transitioning into higher education.
• Proactively identifying and supporting students at academic risk through monitoring progress and engagement, collaborating with academic staff, and implementing timely interventions.
• Developing, monitoring and reviewing Reasonable Adjustment Plans (RAPs) and liaising with academic staff to support the implementation of reasonable adjustments.
• Supporting students from diverse equity cohorts by identifying individual needs, developing appropriate support strategies and facilitating access to academic, disability, health, welfare, financial and cultural services.
• Developing online academic support resources, delivering webinars and contributing to initiatives that improve student engagement, retention, progression and academic success.
• Monitoring and reporting on student outcomes, contributing to evidence-based improvements in teaching and assessment, and maintaining scholarly activity relevant to higher education learning and teaching

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have:

• A tertiary qualification in Education, Psychology, Social Work, Higher Education, Health Sciences or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience supporting students in a higher education setting, particularly those experiencing academic challenges or transitioning into tertiary study.
• Experience in online teaching and developing online learning and academic support resources.
• Demonstrated ability to develop students’ academic, study, research, writing and self-management skills, and implement strategies that enhance engagement and academic success.
• Experience identifying and responding to academic risk, developing individualised support strategies, and collaborating with academic and professional staff to improve student outcomes.
• An understanding of inclusive student support practices and the needs of students from diverse backgrounds and equity cohorts, including students requiring reasonable adjustments.
