Job summary

Macquarie University Health is seeking an early-career General Cardiologist to join the Cardiovascular and Respiratory Program on a 0.1 FTE fixed-term appointment for 12 months from February 2027. You will work one half-day weekly in the WISE Emergency rapid access Cardiology outpatient clinic, supervising investigations and coordinating care with the multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Registration as a medical practitioner with the Medical Board of Australia and Cardiology Fellowship.
• Early post-fellowship experience in general cardiology, including emergency/acute care.
• Competence in supervising and reporting cardiac investigations (ECG, echo, Holter, stress testing).

Responsibilities

• Provide rapid access outpatient cardiology service in your scope of practice.
• Supervise and report cardiac investigations, including ECG, echocardiography, Holter monitoring, stress ECG and stress echocardiography.
• Give specialist advice to WISE Emergency physicians and arrange admission when appropriate.
• Take part in a low-burden cardiology on-call roster with inpatient consults.
• Collaborate with nursing, allied health and cardiac diagnostics staff; document accurately in EMR.
• Contribute to cardiology MDT meetings, governance, audits and teaching.
