Job summary

Grand Pacific Health is seeking an Aboriginal Wellbeing Worker for Community Living Supports in Macarthur. This part-time, fixed-term role supports CLS participants, focusing on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities with culturally responsive, recovery-oriented practices.

The position emphasizes collaboration with families and community services, aiming to build independence, confidence and lasting connections within the community.

Qualifications

• Identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander and engage with Aboriginal communities across CLS locations.
• Qualifications in mental health, health or community/social services discipline (minimum Certificate IV).
• Demonstrated recovery-oriented approach and ability to mentor people toward recovery goals.

Responsibilities

• Supports CLS participants, especially Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, to build strengths and live well in their community.
• Provide practical, culturally responsive support and collaborate with families, services and community.
• Engage and mentor individuals toward recovery goals in a structured plan.

Aboriginal Wellbeing Worker, Community Living Supports (Macarthur)

About the role

This is anAboriginal IdentifiedPosition- authorised under the S14d of the NSWAnti-Discrimination Act 1977.

This is position is part time (26.25 hours per week), fixed term until 30 June 2031 with a possibility of extension due to funding.

Supports CLS program participants, particularly Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, to build strengths, set goals and live well in their community. Providing practical support that is culturally responsive and recovery focused, the Aboriginal Wellbeing worker helps builds independence, confidence and connection, while working collaboratively with families, services and community.

Skills & Experience

• Identify as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander and be an active member within the Aboriginal communities across the relevant CLS program location.
• Qualifications in mental health, health or community/social services discipline (minimum Certificate IV).
• Demonstrated commitment to working from a recovery orientation, in line with the National Framework for Recovery Oriented Mental Health Services.
• Demonstrated capacity to engage with and mentor people, particularly Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, to work towards their recovery goals in a structured and planned way.
