Job summary

Sydney Local Health District is seeking an Aboriginal Mental Health and Wellbeing Peer Support Worker (Health Education Officer Graduate/Non-Graduate) at Concord Centre for Mental Health. This permanent part-time position (24 hours per week) offers a pathway for graduates and non-graduates with lived experience of mental health to support consumers and communities.

The role focuses on improving mental health, facilitating recovery, and helping with housing, education and community connections,

Qualifications

• Personal experience of mental distress and demonstrated experience using recovery principles.
• A degree in a relevant field is required for payment at Graduate rate.

Responsibilities

• Support consumers to develop physical and mental health, access to housing, employment and education, re-discovering a sense of purpose and personal identity, and forming active community connections.
