Job summary

Kyabram District Health Service in Kyabram, VIC, seeks an Aboriginal Health Liaison Officer to improve access to culturally safe health services across the community. You will provide support, advocacy and navigation for clients and families.

You will build strong relationships with Aboriginal communities and partner organisations, contribute to health promotion and staff education, and support culturally safe care across KDHS.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of Aboriginal culture, community and kinship networks.
• Understanding of Aboriginal health issues and priorities.
• Excellent communication, advocacy and relationship-building skills.
• Experience working with Aboriginal communities and health services.

Responsibilities

• Provide support, advocacy and navigation assistance to clients and families to access culturally safe, coordinated healthcare services.
• Build strong relationships with local Aboriginal communities and partner organisations; contribute to health promotion activities; support culturally safe care practices and staff education.
