Job summary

NSW Department of Education seeks an Aboriginal Education Coordinator (IDENTIFIED) to provide strategic leadership of culturally relevant services and initiatives supporting Aboriginal students across NSW Public schools.

The role guides and assists principals, executives and teaching staff with a focus on leadership, teaching and learning; coordinates programs with other directorates and stakeholders. Temporary full-time appointment until 22 July 2029, Parramatta with flexible work arrangements.

About the Aboriginal Education and Communities Directorate

The Aboriginal Education and Communities directorate (AEC) values its strong partnership with the NSW Aboriginal Education Consultative Group Inc. and communities, in supporting NSW Public schools to deliver high level, quality teaching to maximise learning outcomes for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students.

About the position

This role provides strategic leadership of culturally relevant and inclusive services, programs and initiatives supporting the quality teaching of Aboriginal students. Coupled with this, the position guides and assists with the professional learning of principals, executive and teaching staff with a focus on leadership, teaching and learning.

The role encompasses the coordination and management of specific programs and initiatives, in collaboration with other directorates, and key stakeholders.
