Job summary

HiTalent Recruitment is seeking two Aboriginal Caseworkers in Sydney within a respected Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation. You will provide trauma‑informed, culturally safe case management to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Survivors navigating the National Redress journey.

The role involves intake, assessment, referrals to services, and outreach across NSW. A Certificate IV in Community Services or equivalent experience is required, with a NSW driver’s licence and willingness

Qualifications

• Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander identification essential.
• Certificate IV in Community Services or related qualification, or relevant demonstrated experience.
• Experience in case management, family support, community services or similar field.
• Understanding of trauma-informed and culturally responsive practice.
• Experience supporting Aboriginal individuals, families or communities with complex needs.
• Strong communication, advocacy and organisational skills.
• Current NSW driver’s licence.
• Willingness to undertake planned outreach and occasional overnight travel.
• Relevant employment checks, or willingness to obtain them.

Responsibilities

• Provide culturally safe intake, assessment and case management.
• Support Survivors through the National Redress process and access to services.
• Manage an active caseload of approximately 18–25 clients.
• Coordinate referrals to counseling, mental health, housing, legal and community services.
• Advocate for clients and facilitate access to services.
• Build relationships with Aboriginal organisations, community services and government agencies.
• Participate in planned community outreach across metropolitan and regional NSW.
• Maintain accurate case notes and client records.
