Yeppoon Family Practice is seeking an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Worker or Practitioner to join our community-focused team on a part-time basis. You will build trusted relationships with First Nations patients, support access to primary healthcare and contribute to culturally respectful care across the Capricorn Coast.
You will work 3 days per week alongside GPs, Nurses and Admin staff, with onboarding and ongoing professional development to strengthen chronic disease
Are you an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Health Worker or Practitioner looking for a role where your skills, knowledge, relationships and connection to community can make a genuine difference?
Yeppoon Family Practice is a long-established, well-loved general practice with a proud history of caring for families across the Capricorn Coast. For many patients, we have been part of their healthcare journey for years — sometimes generations.
As our practice continues to grow, we are looking for an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Worker or Practitioner to join our supportive team and help us continue providing patient-centred, culturally respectful care for First Nations patients in our community.
This is a part-time position working 3 days per week at Yeppoon Family Practice.
At Yeppoon Family Practice, our purpose is simple: to make a meaningful difference to the health of our community.
We offer a refreshing alternative to the bureaucracy of large hospitals or corporate healthcare. Here, you will be part of a local, values-driven team where people know each other, patients are treated as individuals, and every member of the healthcare team has an important role to play.
You will work alongside experienced GPs, Nurses and Administration staff, with the support of a practice group that has proudly served the Central Queensland community for 50 years.
This role provides an opportunity to build strong and respectful relationships with First Nations patients and families and support access to patient-centred, culturally respectful primary healthcare.
We welcome applications from both experienced Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Workers/Practitioners and those looking to further develop their skills within general practice.
Yeppoon Family Practice is part of the Yeppoon Family Practice Group, a long-established local general practice group committed to providing high-quality, compassionate and community-focused care.
Across our practices — including Yeppoon Family Practice, The Family Practice Emu Park, Figtree Family Practice and Complete Skin Solutions in Rockhampton — we are united by a shared purpose: to make a meaningful difference in the health of our community.
We are proud to have cared for generations of local families and to have built a reputation for trusted, relationship-based healthcare.
As teaching practices, we are also committed to education, mentoring and nurturing the next generation of primary healthcare professionals. We value learning, innovation, sustainability and responsible business practices that help protect access to quality healthcare for future generations.
Inspired to make a difference – We come to work each day motivated to positively impact each other's lives and the lives of our patients. Genuine care is at the heart of all we do.
Growth mindset – We embrace change, support learning and create opportunities for professional and personal growth.
Teamwork – We believe teamwork is the foundation of exceptional care. We respect the diversity of our team and value the collective expertise each person brings.
At the Yeppoon Family Practice Group, we are more than a healthcare provider. We are a community of people dedicated to delivering compassionate care, inspiring growth and building a healthier future.
If you are looking for a role where your knowledge, cultural understanding, relationships and skills are valued, and where you can make a meaningful difference to the healthcare experience of First Nations patients in our community, we would love to hear from you.
