Job summary

Umbrella Club is seeking an experienced Senior Ab Initio Developer to join our data engineering team in Sydney. You will design, develop, deploy, and support high-quality data integration solutions using Ab Initio, ETL, Unix/Linux, Shell scripting, SQL, and Oracle.

The role requires mentoring, technical guidance, and exposure to AWS Cloud, with a focus on both batch and continuous data flows and robust test coverage for reliable software delivery.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands-on Ab Initio and data engineering/ETL experience.
• Strong Unix/Linux and Shell scripting expertise.
• Experience with both batch and continuous data flows.
• Proficiency in Oracle SQL and RDBMS concepts.
• AWS Cloud experience and CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, debug, and deploy Ab Initio ETL/data integration solutions.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Ab Initio Developer with strong hands-on expertise in Ab Initio, ETL/Data Engineering, Unix/Linux, Shell Scripting, SQL, and Oracle.

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, deploying, and supporting high-quality data integration solutions, while also providing technical guidance, troubleshooting, and mentoring to team members.

Mandatory Skills & Experience

• Strong experience with Ab Initio products, EME, and development frameworks.
• Strong Unix/Linux and Shell Scripting experience.
• Experience working with both Batch and Continuous Flows.
• Strong knowledge of RDBMS, Oracle, and SQL.
• Experience with data integration and ETL tools/frameworks.
• Strong understanding of MQ, REST APIs, and Kafka integrations.
• Experience with AWS Cloud.
• Knowledge of CI/CD concepts and pipeline development.
• Experience with Jenkins, TeamCity, and Ab Initio EME.
• Programming experience in Python and/or Java.
• Strong DevOps and production support experience.
