Benelec Services is seeking an A-grade Electrician – Team Leader to run a small crew across residential, commercial, and maintenance jobs in Melbourne. You’ll supervise on-site teams, mentor apprentices, and act as the first point of contact for clients and builders, ensuring on-time delivery and quality work.

The role covers solar, EV installations, switchboard upgrades, and service work at McDonald’s stores, with a company vehicle and ServiceM8 workflow.

Qualifications

• A-grade electrical licence (Victoria) — non-negotiable.
• 3–5 years post-licence experience across residential and commercial.
• Experience leading a small crew or supervising apprentices.
• Full driver’s licence and Australian work rights.

Responsibilities

• Run a small on-site crew and keep jobs on track.
• Supervise and mentor apprentices; be first contact on site for clients and builders.
• Keep job cards, notes and photos up to date in ServiceM8.
• Ensure safety and quality standards across all jobs.
• Report progress, issues and variations to the Director.

You’ve done your time pulling cable on big sites and you know your trade inside out. Now you want more than just following a foreman around — you want to lead the job, bring apprentices up properly, and be trusted to get it done right. You’ll start by getting to know our crew, our clients and the way we do things — then step up and run your own team.

Benelec is a tight-knit Melbourne crew doing the kind of varied, interesting work that keeps you switched on. One day you’re on a new build in the inner west, next you’re on a 20kW solar install on a commercial roof, then you’re back‑of‑house at a festival running temporary power for a stage. No two weeks look the same.

We’re growing fast, but we’re keeping it real. You’ll know everyone’s name. You’ll know everyone’s coffee order. And when something goes sideways on a job, you’ll have a team that actually backs you in.

What you’ll be working towards

• Getting to know our crew, our clients and the Benelec way of doing things
• Running a small crew on site and keeping jobs on track
• Supervising and mentoring apprentices
• Being the first point of contact on site for the team, clients and builders
• Keeping job cards, notes and photos up to date in ServiceM8
• Making sure every job meets our safety and quality standards
• Reporting to the Director on progress, issues and variations

What you’ll be doing

• Residential service work, renovations, and new builds across Melbourne
• Commercial fit‑outs, maintenance, and switchboard upgrades
• Maintenance across 13 McDonald’s stores in Melbourne — we’re an approved contractor
• Solar PV and battery installations (we’re SAA accredited and growing this side of the business hard)
• EV charger installs — residential and commercial
• Strata and Owners Corporation work, property management call‑outs, and festival and event electrical work

What we’re looking for

• A-grade electrical licence (Victoria) — non‑negotiable
• 3–5 years post‑licence experience, ideally across resi and commercial
• Experience leading a small team or supervising apprentices
• Full driver’s licence and Australian work rights
• Solar and EV experience is a big plus; SAA accreditation a bonus but not required
• Pride in your work — if you cut corners, we’re not for you
