We are seeking an experienced, safety-focused A-Grade Electrician to join a major public healthcare infrastructure team in West of Melbourne.
This role plays a vital operational part in maintaining the integrity of electrical, emergency power, heating, ventilation, and critical building systems across multiple healthcare and satellite facilities throughout Western Melbourne. A fully maintained company vehicle is provided for all inter-site travel during your shifts.
This position operates on a standard 38-hour work week. You will commence on an initial 3-month contract, with a strong pathway to transition into a permanent position based on performance and ongoing operational demand.
Preventative & Reactive Maintenance: Execute scheduled servicing, fault response, and reactive repairs on electrical plant, distribution boards, lighting, and specialized facility equipment via a digital CMMS/work order system.
Diagnostics & Building Systems: Utilize Building Automation Systems (BAS/BMS) and diagnostic tools to identify and resolve electrical, VSD (Variable Speed Drive), and motor control faults.
Testing & Compliance: Perform test and tag procedures on portable and user-operated equipment; complete and submit all required Electrical Compliance Certificates and safety logs.
Infrastructure Support: Assist with electrical support for HVAC, hot water, emergency power, and sterilisation infrastructure, as well as supporting external contractors during major system shutdowns.
Site Coverage: Travel efficiently between assigned regional and suburban healthcare sites using the provided company vehicle.
On-Call & After-Hours: Participate in emergency response protocols and after-hours breakdown coverage as required.
A-Grade Electrical Licence - Mandatory.
Experience: Minimum 2 years post-trade qualification experience (prefer public sector, or healthcare facility maintenance environments).
Driver's Licence: Current, valid Victorian Driver's Licence.
Technical Skills: Sound diagnostic capabilities with exposure to BAS/BMS systems, VSDs, motor controls, and digital CMMS asset management tools.
Compliance Readiness: Willingness to undergo a National Police Check and provide Immunisation Health Clearance (required for public health facility access).
Autonomy & Teamwork: Ability to work with minimal supervision, exercise sound technical judgment, and collaborate effectively with multi-disciplinary trade teams.
