Job summary

NEPEAN is rolling out Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance across a multi-entity global group. As Finance Functional Lead, you will own the global D365 Finance template, govern COA, posting profiles, intercompany setup and localisation, and lead production support and new entity deployments.

This senior internal role blends hands-on configuration with governance, ensuring standardisation while enabling the business to move from vendor-led implementation to a sustainable internal ERP capability.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in D365 or AX Finance, including multi-entity implementations.
• Strong command of GL, AP, AR, FA, intercompany and tax localisations.
• Experience supporting end-to-end ERP deployments from design to hypercare.

About NEPEAN and the role

NEPEAN is a proud Australian-owned global organisation with operations across engineering, manufacturing and industrial solutions. We are currently rolling out Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations across a multi-entity global group, with Finance at the core of the platform.

This is a key opportunity to step into a senior internal role where you will help shape how Finance operates in D365 across the group.

As our Finance Functional Lead, you will own the global finance template, support live production environments and guide new entity deployments from design through to go-live and hypercare. You will be the internal authority for how Finance works in D365, protecting standardisation while helping the business move from vendor-led implementation to a sustainable internal ERP capability.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Global template ownership. Act as the internal owner of the D365 Finance template. Govern chart of accounts, dimensions, posting profiles, tax structures and intercompany setup, and review and approve every finance-related change request. Protect standardisation across all legal entities and control how the template is allowed to evolve.
• Multi-entity rollout. Support new entity deployments from design through go-live and hypercare, participate in solution validation and UAT, and ensure controlled localisation rather than fragmentation.
• Production support. Support the finance environments of entities already live, resolving functional issues, supporting month-end and period close, and maintaining the health of the finance configuration in production. This includes the support work currently carried by our external finance consultant, which this role will absorb.
• Vendor transition. Progressively take on responsibilities currently performed by external finance consultants, lead knowledge transfer, and ensure the finance configuration is fully documented and owned internally.
• Stakeholder engagement. Act as the bridge between Finance leadership and IT, translate accounting requirements into D365 configuration, and provide training and support to key finance users across the group.

About you

You will bring strong D365 Finance functional experience, sound accounting knowledge and the confidence to own a group-wide template. This role will suit someone who can balance hands-on configuration, governance, production support and stakeholder engagement.

Ideal Candidates Will Possess

• Substantial hands-on experience across D365 Finance / AX Finance modules, deep enough to own the template rather than take direction on it. As a guide, 7+ years in D365 or AX Finance, including at least one full multi-entity implementation.
• Strong command of General Ledger, Accounts Payable and Receivable, Fixed Assets, intercompany, and tax and localisation.
• Real experience in multi-legal-entity environments, and comfort supporting live production alongside ongoing rollout.
• A solid grounding in accounting principles and financial governance, and the judgment and spine to hold a standard against a business unit that wants an exception.
• Experience supporting end-to-end ERP implementations from design to hypercare.

Desirable experience

• Manufacturing or multi-site environment experience.
• Microsoft certification (MB-310 or equivalent).
• Exposure to consolidation and intercompany processes at group level.
