Job summary

mycar Northcote is offering a four-year Apprenticeship Program to become a Light Vehicle Mechanic. You will train in the workshop alongside qualified technicians, performing minor servicing, oil changes, tyre rotations and brake inspections while you learn in trade school.

You must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident, be in your second year of apprenticeship, and demonstrate a genuine interest in the trade.

Qualifications

• Must be Australian citizen and/or permanent resident.
• Must be in 2nd Year of Apprenticeship (Mechanic).
• Mechanically minded with genuine interest in the trade.
• Commit to a full-time 4-year apprenticeship, including practical studies.
• Strong self-motivation with a can-do attitude.
• Ability to follow safe work practices.
• Current driver’s license or close to obtaining one preferred.
• Certificate II in Automotive or demonstrated experience ideal.

Responsibilities

• Perform minor servicing of light vehicles (oil changes, tyre rotations, brake inspections).
• Use and maintain tools and equipment in a workshop environment.
• Keep the workshop clean and tidy at all times.
• Learn in tandem with qualified trainers and through trade school.
