Job summary

MRAEL is seeking an eager 2nd or 3rd year Apprentice Chef to join the team at the Royal Randwick Racecourse with Australian Turf Club. You will learn under qualified chefs in a busy commercial kitchen, gaining a nationally recognised Certificate III in Commercial Cookery and starting a rewarding culinary career.

The program includes full uniform and toolkit, tailored training, mentoring every 6 weeks, and the chance to build experience at more than one employer.

Qualifications

• Aspiring to become a professional chef with genuine interest in learning.
• Good communication skills and willingness to learn and take initiative.
• Motivated to start a culinary career and develop skills in a fast-paced kitchen.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation, cooking and serving of dishes.
• Operate kitchen equipment under supervision (mixers, choppers, fryers, steamers).
• Learn different knife and cooking techniques.
• Clean, maintain and store kitchen equipment properly.

Education

Certificate III in Commercial Cookery
