Job summary

Montessori Academy is seeking a creative and passionate Room Leader to guide a team of experienced Educators in a dynamic Montessori environment. The role demands delivering a truly inspiring early learning experience aligned with policy and procedures.

You will lead development of the Children’s Program, ensure safety, and maintain meticulous records while engaging with families and observing each child’s progress to support growth and learning.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care (or ACECQA equivalent).
• Experience as Room Leader in an early childhood setting.
• Current Working with Children Check.
• First Aid certificate or willingness to obtain one.
• Strong understanding of the NQF.

Responsibilities

• Develop the Children's Program reflecting Early Years Learning Framework guidelines.
• Maintain a safe environment for staff and children, attend to allergies/asthma etc.
• Keep accurate records of accidents, incidents, injuries, illnesses and medications.
• Liaise with families regarding day-to-day happenings.
• Maintain observations and records of individual children's progress.

The Role

The role requires a creative and passionate Room Leader to work lead a team of experienced Educators in accordance to policy and procedures. This role is highly dynamic and creative, giving the right candidate the opportunity to deliver a truly inspiring Montessori early learning experience.

• To develop the Children's Program (reflecting Early Years Learning Framework guidelines).
• Ensure a safe environment is maintained for staff and children, with particular attention to children with anaphylaxis, allergies, asthma etc.
• To ensure that accurate records are kept in regards to accident, incident, injury, illness and medication
• To liaise with families in regards to the day to day happenings.
• To maintain observations and records of individual children's progress, particularly those identified through staff observation.

About You

• Min. Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care (or ACECQA equivalent)
• Experience working as a Room Leader in an early childhood setting
• Current Working with Children Check
• First Aid Certificate or willing to obtain one
• Excellent understanding and working knowledge of the NQF
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively in a team environment
• Strong understanding of the importance of family communications
