Job summary

The Bureau of Meteorology is seeking an experienced IT Operations Leader to run a 24/7 Command Centre and Service Desk, ensuring real-time visibility, incident coordination and service continuity across the IT environment.

You will manage incident triage, escalation, and major incident processes, oversee 24/7 workforce planning and rosters, and drive governance, performance reporting and continuous improvement with internal teams and vendors to deliver reliable, customer‑focused IT services.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a 24/7 command centre and service desk operations.
• Strong incident management and escalation discipline.
• Proven ability to plan rosters and manage workforce across shifts.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate incident triage, prioritisation and escalation across resolver teams.
• Support Major Incident Management and serve as escalation point for high-impact issues.
• Oversee governance, processes and service performance reporting.
