Job summary

Queensland Cotton invites expressions of interest for seasonal roles at the Moura Cotton Gin during the ginning season. Roles include Bag/Press Operators, Plant Cleaners, Grablift/ Moonbuggy Operators, Forklift and Truck Drivers. A full site induction and training are provided, with penalties and shift premiums per the Award.

Applicants must have transport and be able to work a 24/6 roster. Seasonal work runs March to August, with varying weather and operational demand.

Qualifications

• Must be able to pass pre-employment medical and drug screen.
• Flexible to work a 7am–7pm or 7pm–7am roster including up to 6 consecutive days/nights.
• Adequate physical fitness to perform labour-intensive duties.

Responsibilities

• Operate bag/press and other processing equipment at the Moura Gin.
• Assist with plant cleaning and general warehouse duties as required.
• Adhere to safety practices and site induction requirements.
• Support operations across 7am–7pm or 7pm–7am shifts as rostered.

Queensland Cotton provides employees with a safe and supportive industrial working environment. We currently seek expressions of interest from reliable, hard-working individuals to work at our Moura Cotton Gin (processing facility) during the cotton ginning season.

The season is likely to commence in March and is anticipated to run through to the end of August depending on weather conditions and operational requirements.

Successful applicants must be flexible with availability. These operations are likely to run a 24 hour a day, 6 days a week roster. Shifts will be from 7am-7pm, or 7pm-7am. You need to be capable of working a roster that includes up to 6 consecutive days/nights of 12 hour shifts. Pay is in accordance with the Award where penalty rates and shift work premiums apply.

Positions available include: Bag/Press Operators, Plant Cleaners, Grablift/Moonbuggy Operators, Forklift and Truck Drivers.

Heavy vehicle/fork lift licence and machinery/mobile equipment operation experience will be highly regarded and is essential for some roles. A full site induction and training is provided.

In 2026 Queensland Cotton will operate 6 cotton processing gins throughout Central QLD, Darling Downs, South West QLD and Regional NSW. Separate applications are required for each location.
