Job summary

Steven P Johnson is seeking a 1st year apprentice carpenter to join the team in Newcastle area. The role involves learning across framing, lock up and fix out, joinery, cladding and decking with hands-on supervision.

The ideal candidate is motivated, reliable and keen to learn, with basic hand tool skills, a valid White Card, a current driver's licence and access to a car. Australian citizenship or full working rights are required.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled or intending to enroll in an apprenticeship.
• Basic knowledge of hand tools is preferred.
• A White Card is required to work on site.
• Driver licence and own car are preferred for commuting.
• Australian citizenship or full working rights are required.

Responsibilities

• Learn and assist with framing, lock up and fix out tasks on site.
• Assist with joinery, external cladding and decking work.
• Follow instructions and maintain safety on site.

Job description

We have a position available for a 1st yearapprentice carpenter to join the team.

We specialise in all aspects of building from framing, lock up and fix out and detailed joinery to external cladding and decking.

We require a self motivated, intelligent individual with a will to learn and a reasonable base skill set.

To be successful you must have the following:

• Ability to undertake physically demanding work
• Have an eye for detail and be able to listen and followinstructions.
• Be reliable and punctual
• Very keen to learn
• Have a basic knowledge of hand tools
• Commitment and enthusiasm with a genuine interest in carpentry
• Ability to get to and from work independently
