Job description

A leading mechanical services provider, operating for over 14 years, is seeking a motivated, and hands-on Stock Co-ordinator / Controller to join its growing team located at Rocklea. This is a critical role supporting workshop operations—ensuring accurate stock control, parts coordination, and timely delivery for both internal and external customers.

Success in this role requires attention to detail, speed, and a solid understanding of mechanical parts and workshop logistics. You’ll work closely with technicians, service teams, and suppliers to keep things moving efficiently along with supporting mechanical maintenance tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage ordering, receiving, stocking, and distribution of vehicle parts, consumables, and fluids.
  • Coordinate workshop inventory, supplier relationships, and parts movement.
  • Maintain accurate stock records through regular stocktakes and audits.
  • Allocate parts to jobs and reconcile against invoices and workshop systems.
  • Operate internal systems for job planning, parts quoting, and customer/technician support.
  • Fulfil and dispatch online store orders, manage delivery schedules, and ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Perform local pickup and delivery runs as required.
  • Handle timely returns of excess or incorrect parts.
  • Maintain storeroom organisation, cleanliness, and WHS compliance.
  • Support basic mechanical tasks such as flywheel, rotor, and drum machining, and assist with DPF cleaning/inspection.
Skills and experience required
  • Previous experience in a stock control or workshop coordination role within the mechanical, automotive, or heavy vehicle industry.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively across technicians, admin, and sales.
  • Proven ability to manage stock records, invoicing, and job costing.
  • Familiarity with MechanicDesk and Xero (highly desirable, but not essential).
  • High attention to detail and pride in maintaining a clean, organised workspace.
  • Willingness to learn and support mechanical processes such as DPF cleaning and component machining.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and reliable work ethic.
Mandatory Licences
  • Forklift Licence (LF)
  • Open Australian Driver’s Licence (MR Licence desirable)
What We Offer
  • Remuneration negotiable
  • A supportive, close-knit team environment.
  • A well-established business with over 14 years of successful operation.
  • The opportunity to shape your career in inventory and workshop logistics.
  • Ongoing development in both technical and operational areas.
