Systems Analysts translate business requirements into technical requirements that align with relevant architectures.
Systems Analyst Professionals design, create, evaluate and document ICT solutions in new and existing ICT systems. They may propose modifications to the existing systems and processes, or design new systems to meet user needs as expressed in requirements documentations or user stories.
Systems Analysts are responsible for designing and analysing ICT systems and products. They gather requirements for process improvements and new features by engaging business users and development and testing teams. They are responsible for writing functional specifications from the business requirements.

Well-developed knowledge and understanding of:
1. Requirements definition and management: Level 3 (SFIA)
Defines and manages scoping, requirements definition and prioritisation activities for small-scale changes and assists with more complex change initiatives. Follows agreed standards and applies appropriate techniques to elicit and document detailed requirements. Provides constructive challenge to stakeholders as required. Reviews requirements for errors and omissions. Prioritises requirements and documents traceability to source. Provides input to the requirements base-line. Investigates, manages and applies authorised requests for changes to base-lined requirements, in line with change management policy.
Undertakes complete design of moderately complex software applications or components. Applies agreed standards, guidelines, patterns and tools. Assists as part of a team in the design of components of larger software systems. Specifies user and/or system interfaces. Creates multiple design views to address the different stakeholders' concerns and to handle functional and non-functional requirements. Assists in the evaluation of options and trade-offs. Collaborates in reviews of work with others as appropriate.
1. Feasibility assessment: Level 3 (SFIA)
Supports option identification and feasibility assessment. Selects and employs standard techniques to get the information required for feasibility assessment. Supports identification of tangible costs and benefits, and development of business cases.
Assists in preparing and operating the environment, facilities and tools needed to evaluate systems, products, services or devices. Assists in the collection of feedback on prototypes and designs from users and others.
