The VWCC is a 20‑room facility that operates 24/7, providing a unique crisis intervention model that combines accommodation with comprehensive wrap‑around services. The Centre offers a safe, supportive, and child‑friendly environment, where women can receive all meals, have access to serviced rooms, laundry, and other services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead by example to create a positive, inclusive, and accountable team culture, promoting staff wellbeing, growth, and professional development.
  • Ensure delivery of high‑quality, trauma‑informed, and client‑centred crisis accommodation and support services, providing a safe and supportive environment for women and children experiencing crisis.
  • Ensure adherence to Work Health and Safety (WHS), safeguarding standards, funding agreements, and relevant legislation to minimise operational risks and maintain service quality.
  • Administer the VWCC operational budget, ensuring financial sustainability and effective resource allocation to maintain 24/7 service continuity.
  • Provide ongoing support and professional development for staff and volunteers through coaching, supervision, and team engagement, ensuring high levels of service delivery and team resilience.
  • Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including government agencies, community organisations, and service providers, to enhance service outcomes for clients.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of VWCC services, identifying and implementing innovative practices and pursuing opportunities for service development in line with best practice and sector trends.
