Zusammenfassung

GATE Space is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to develop close-to-hardware firmware in C/C++ and integrate FPGA-based solutions. You will build robust HIL environments and CI/CD pipelines, collaborating with electrical engineering during hardware bring-up to support propulsion development in a fast-paced setting.

The role requires strong debugging skills, Python tooling, and experience with embedded systems, microcontrollers, and real-time software.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems, Mechatronics, or related field, or equivalent.
• At least four years of experience in C/C++ close to hardware, microcontrollers, and embedded bring-up.
• Experience with Python tooling, automation, and data handling; knowledge of CI/CD for embedded systems.
• Proven ability to design automated test setups and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) systems.
• Familiarity with low-level communication protocols (SPI, I2C, CAN, UART).
• Nice-to-have: FPGA development (VHDL/Verilog), RTOS, TwinCAT/EtherCAT, or safety-critical domains.

• Design, implement, and maintain near-hardware software and firmware in C/C++.
• Integrate FPGA-based solutions and verify hardware interfaces.
• Build and operate Hardware-in-the-Loop environments for validation.
• Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines and test automation for embedded targets.
• Develop Python tooling for test automation, data capture, and analysis.
• Collaborate with electrical engineering during hardware bring-up and debugging.
• Lead software architecture decisions for custom PCB designs.
