A regional sports organization is looking for a Venue Office Manager responsible for the efficient operations of their basketball venue. The role involves overseeing daily operations, managing staff, and ensuring excellent customer service. Candidates should have experience in venue management and strong leadership skills. This is a full-time position, primarily during regular business hours, with some evening and weekend availability as needed for events.
The Venue Office Manager is responsible for the efficient operation of the Southern Districts Basketball Association's Office. This includes overseeing day-to-day operations, managing staff, coordinating events and programs, and ensuring the venue meets the needs of players, spectators, and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Facility Management
Manage daily operations of the basketball venue, ensuring cleanliness, safety, and functionality.
Oversee court bookings and scheduling to optimise venue usage.
Oversee referee rostering for domestic competition and representative programs.
Facilitate weekly staff meetings to discuss priorities and progress.
Recruit, train, and supervise venue office staff and volunteers.
Manage office staff workload, priorities, performance and attendance.
Review staff administrative software and processes to ensure and maintain efficiency.
Promote a safe and inclusive working environment.
Customer Service
Provide excellent customer service and resolve issues promptly.
Build relationships with Club Presidents and local school contacts to ensure Venue availability is secure.
Provide training and feedback to office staff on customer service and conflict resolution.
Administrative Oversight
Review & manage weekly priorities of office staff to ensure KPIs are met.
Maintain accurate records of court bookings for the Domestic Competition.
Maintain an accurate Roster for domestic refereeing.
Ensure compliance with legal, safety, and association policies.
Provide back up support to the Competitions Manager in time of absence.
Qualifications & Skills
Experience in basketball venue or facility management.
Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
Knowledge of WHS, risk management, and customer service principles.
Proficiency in Court Control rostering & Referee rostering.
Working Conditions
This is a full-time position based in the office during standard business hours. Some evening and weekend availability may be required to support events or competitions.
