Job summary

Tieto Tech Consulting is seeking a Test Engineer to contribute across the testing lifecycle, from manual and exploratory testing to automation and API testing. You will work with cross-disciplinary teams and help explore practical uses of AI in quality assurance.

The role requires hands-on testing experience, ISTQB Foundation Level, German at C1, and familiarity with OpenShift and Azure. You will integrate tests into CI/CD, perform performance and API testing, and help shape reliable delivery in

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in software testing (manual and automated).
• ISTQB Foundation Level certificate; Advanced Level is a plus.
• A structured, precise approach with initiative and ownership.
• Experience with performance/load testing and cloud environments (OpenShift, Azure).
• Experience testing event streams; non-functional testing incl. failover, monitoring, alerting.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will contribute across the testing lifecycle, from hand-on exploratory and manual testing to automation, API testing and CI/CD integration. You will work with colleagues across disciplines and help us explore practical ways to use AI in quality assurance.

Who we are looking for

• Hands-on experience in software testing (manual and automated)
• An ISTQB Foundation Level certification; ISTQB Advanced Level is an advantage
• A structured and precise approach, combined with initiative, ownership and a pragmatic hand-on mindset
• Experience with performance and load testing as well as container and cloud environments (OpenShift, Azure)
• Experience with testing of event streams including message validation, producers/consumers, ordering and idempotency as well as non-functional testing: failover & disaster scenarios, monitoring & alerting verification
• Test Environment Management & Service Virtualization (Mocking, Stubbing)
• Excellent German skills at C1 level for customer and team communication
• Curiosity about technology and a genuine enthusiasm for testing

The monthly gross salary for this full-time position starts EUR 3.954,00 in accordance with the Austrian IT collective agreement (ST1 “Regelstufe”). The final package will reflect your qualifications, relevant experience and current market standards.
