We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Supervisor, Inventory Services to lead the efficient and compliant operation of our client file and box storage within the Government Records Repository (GRR). This is an exciting opportunity to drive improvement, optimise processes, and deliver outstanding service in a dynamic and supportive environment.

• Clerk Grade 7/8. Remuneration package includes salary ($113,574 – $125,720), employer’s contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading.
• Ongoing full-time employment.
• The role will work across Sydney.

Museums of History NSW is a state cultural institution, established under the Museums of History NSW Act 2022. It is an agency of the NSW Department of Creative Industries, Tourism, Hospitality and Sport (DCITHS).

What you’ll do with us:

This role will oversee all Inventory and Storage of MHNSW’s Government Records Repository (GRR) clients’ files and boxes. The role is additionally responsible for supporting internal services to continually improve underlying systems and processes to enable the GRR to operate at maximum efficiency in order to meet stakeholder and regulatory requirements.

What you need to tell us - Targeted questions:

1. Provide an example that demonstrates your experience in supporting accurate and time‑critical operational functions across a multi‑site commercial operation—preferably within or for government. Your example should show how you have led a team of 10 or more staff while ensuring operational KPIs, including data accuracy and physical inventory integrity, were consistently maintained in a fast‑paced environment with complex and competing priorities.

2. Describe a time when you had to resolve a complex warehousing or operational staffing issue that involved multiple stakeholders across different business areas. Explain how you approached the problem, the controls or strategies you used to manage it, and the outcomes you achieved, particularly in improving efficiency and business processes.

Essential requirements of the role:

• Knowledge of and experience working with RS‑SQL O’Neil Software (or similar) including creating appropriate system queries, amending and/or exporting system data through data connections and the ability to train team members and troubleshoot in these systems.
• Experience using business analysis reporting tools to identify on‑demand and workload and transaction volume trends through dashboard type solutions; and to source, collate and compile regular statistical data, reporting and analysis on departmental performance to the Head of Logistics.
• Experience in reviewing and developing standard operating procedures, and to champion WHS practices.
• Proven experience and knowledge in relation to government data/information privacy and security requirements particularly connecting to business processes, systems.
• Proven experience in day to day operational and financial accountability of buildings, manual handling fleet and other assigned assets.
• Willingness to participate in rosters depending on operational requirements with the ability to participate in after‑hours call roster, including attending to call outs.
• Possess a current WWCC and have the ability to obtain National Police Background Check prior to commencement, as well as a baseline security clearance within 6 months of request.
