Erste Group is seeking an Expert in Strategic Initiatives to drive the organization's strategy development, planning and execution. You will lead the overall Strategic Planning Process, coordinate alignment with local heads, and ensure consistency with the Financial Health vision and Group Strategy.

The role requires 7+ years in strategy or portfolio management within financial services, consulting or IT, plus strong leadership, communication and cross-cultural collaboration skills.

Qualifications

As an expert in the Group Strategic Initiatives team, your role is centered on driving the organization’s strategy development, strategic planning and execution. As an Expert you will drive the overall Strategic Planning Process including preparation and distribution of strategic guidelines and organization of alignment meetings with the local heads of strategy and controlling; ensuring affiliation with our company’s Financial Health vision and overarching Group Strategy; implementing key strategic initiatives of the strategic agenda and / or evaluating their effectiveness.

Your Tasks

• Lead, develop and strengthen the overall Strategic Planning Process (SPP) for Erste Group in close collaboration with CEO & CFO / Group Performance Management to drive strategic decisions and alignment across the group.
• Design and implement state-of-the-art strategic development methodologies and strategic steering mechanisms, ensuring their adoption by the relevant stakeholders
• Research on strategic topics & market developments as input to our group strategy or further strategic initiatives and support the regular “competition radar” on strategies of peer groups
• Act as a strong and valued partner and trusted advisor across the group and facilitate exchange sessions to promote internal understanding and alignment with our strategic initiatives

Your Background

• Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in strategy, program/project or portfolio management functions within financial services, consulting or IT
• Leadership abilities, with experience in guiding teams through complex strategic changes and influencing cross-departmental and cross-cultural collaboration
• Advanced problem-solving capabilities and ‘can-do mentality’ – you possess a highly flexible, creative and open mind-set and a hands-on approach
• Excellent communication skills, capacity to persuade and present effectively to establish trusted relationships with our key stakeholders (group & local)
• A strong business-orientation with a track-record of supporting transformational strategic plans and ability to partner with line managers and operating teams
