Mavie Work GmbH seeks a senior developer to own the Lifestyle Check lab stack, spanning Windows services, lab operator app and backend configurations. You will drive reliability, cleaner architecture, and smoother integrations with the Wellabe platform.

The role offers flexibility to work from Vienna or Munich, with travel to offices and hands-on work with real devices. Experience across desktop, web, and cloud components is essential.

Qualifikationen

• Must have Windows engineering experience with services, installers and deployment tooling.
• Experience integrating hardware devices via serial, Bluetooth, TCP and related protocols.
• Frontend capability to read/maintain Angular/TypeScript codebases and related Electron/Ionic builds.
• Proficient in Python with Flask and Django backends.
• Cloud and DevOps experience including GCP, Docker and CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to debug from logs and screenshots when full reproduction isn't possible.
• Strong security awareness, including GDPR considerations in health contexts.
• Willingness to travel to Munich and Vienna offices.
• Fluent German for local team communication; good English for international collaboration.

Across eight European markets, data is created every day: from our EAP counselling, from the Lifestyle Check - our on-site health checkup - and from our digital services. The Lifestyle Check runs on a real on-site PC that talks to medical measurement devices, an Angular lab app used by our staff, a Django backend that manages configurations and uploads, and a wider platform that turns the results into reports and user-facing health insights.

Your job: You take over responsibility for the Lifestyle-Check lab service. The initial focus is on stabilising and improving the lab stack — the Windows service, the lab operator app and the backend that manages device configurations and uploads. From there you will shape the broader product: cleaner architecture, reliable releases, better data quality, and smoother integrations with the backend service.

The role can be based either in Vienna or Munich.

Your mission

Ownership Lifestyle Check – lab systems

• Taking over and owning the on-site Windows service that bridges our medical measurement devices to the platform. It drives around 10 device families via Bluetooth, serial, TCP and file exchange.
• Operation, maintenance and further development of the device drivers, the local REST API, the system-tray status UI, firmware updates and the Windows installer.
• Owning the lab operator web app, an Angular / Ionic / Electron application that runs on the lab PC and guides the operator through login, packages, stations, appointments and the checkup flow.
• Managing the Django REST backend that configures devices, authenticates lab operators and handles secure uploads and logs.

Perspective for future growth

• Driving refactoring, dependency updates and reliability improvements across the Lifestyle Check stack.
• Integrating with the wider Wellabe platform: the Laravel/PHP admin platform for device master data and the Flask backend that handles body-age calculations and reporting.
• Improving observability: centralized logging, clearer error signals and faster remote diagnosis so that "it didn't work in Munich on Tuesday" becomes solvable from your desk.
• Maintaining and improving CI/CD pipelines, build tooling, and release workflows.

Your profile

Must Haves

• Windows engineering mindset - you are comfortable navigating Windows services, installers, firewall rules and the deployment tooling used to ship and update it.
• Experience with hardware device integration - serial interfaces, Bluetooth, TCP; you can read a device protocol and understand what is happening on the wire.
• Frontend skills - you can read, maintain and extend an Angular/TypeScript codebase, and understand how an Ionic/Capacitor or Electron build chain works.
• Python skills - you can find your way into unfamiliar, grown code and own both Flask and Django backends.
• Cloud and DevOps - GCP (Cloud Storage, Cloud Run/Scheduler), Docker, GitHub Actions.
• Remote debugging from incomplete information - you can reconstruct what happened from logs, screenshots and second-hand descriptions, without being able to reproduce the issue locally.
• Security awareness - patching, handling secrets, dependency management, GDPR in a health context.
• Willingness to travel to our offices in Munich and Vienna, and enjoyment of working with real devices.
• Fluent German - you need to communicate with local teams and support staff at our lab sites in German-speaking countries.
• Good English - collaboration in an international team.

Nice to haves

• PHP / Laravel basics so you can read and coordinate changes in our admin platform.
• Experience with health data or biomarker analysis - you understand the nuances of health data and can contribute to our data analysis efforts.
• Statistical modelling / ML to support our body-age and health-score calculations.
