whataventure seeks a Senior Venture Architect to drive the creation of new business opportunities for corporates, leading projects from conception to implementation and guiding teams to high-quality delivery. You will work hands-on with clients, structure ambiguous topics, mentor Venture Analysts, and help grow client relationships, with a flexible, entrepreneurial environment in Austria.

Fluency in German and English is mandatory, Italian is a plus, and you’ll enjoy a hands-on culture, remote

• 5+ years of experience in innovation, venture development, strategy consulting, new business building, or related fields.
• Strong ability to structure complex problems, create clarity, and drive topics forward independently.
• Experience leading projects or workstreams and taking ownership for outcomes and delivery quality.
• Confidence working with clients and stakeholders in fast-paced and ambiguous environments.
• Ability to balance strategic thinking with pragmatic execution.

• Work hands-on to create real outcomes- Collaborate closely with clients and teams to develop, test, and refine solutions in practice, moving ideas toward implementation.
• Lead teams and ensure high-quality delivery- Guide Venture Analysts and Venture Architects throughout project work, providing feedback and fostering development.
• Contribute to growing client relationships and new business- Identify follow-on opportunities, support proposals and pitches, and build long-term partnerships with clients.

• Drive the development of new business opportunities- Lead projects or workstreams focused on exploring, validating, and implementing new business opportunities for corporates, ranging from business models and innovation initiatives to new ventures.
• Turn ambiguity into clear direction- Structure complex topics, identify opportunities, and translate insights into actionable concepts, recommendations, and next steps. This includes preparing and facilitating workshops, aligning stakeholders, and guiding decision‑making processes.
• Work hands-on to create real outcomes- Collaborate closely with clients and teams to develop, test, and refine solutions in practice, going beyond purely conceptual work and helping move ideas toward implementation.
• Lead teams and ensure high-quality delivery- Guide Venture Analysts and Venture Architects throughout project work, providing feedback, fostering development, and ensuring strong collaboration and high-quality outcomes.
• Contribute to growing client relationships and new business- Identify follow‑on opportunities, support proposals and pitches, and contribute to building long‑term partnerships with clients.

What you need to be successful in the role

• 5+ years of experience in innovation, venture development, strategy consulting, new business building, or related fields.
• Strong ability to structure complex problems, create clarity, and drive topics forward independently.
• Experience leading projects or workstreams and taking ownership for outcomes and delivery quality.
• Confidence working with clients and stakeholders in fast‑paced and ambiguous environments.
• Ability to balance strategic thinking with pragmatic execution.
• Strong communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to guide discussions and align different perspectives.
• Leadership mindset with interest in mentoring and developing others.
• Broad understanding of innovation and new business topics, with deeper expertise in 1-2 industries, domains, or capability areas.
• Fluency in German and English is mandatory. Italian is a plus.

We are legally obliged to state the minimum salary according to the collective agreement, which is EUR 42.979,72 gross annually. We offer a competitive salary based on your qualifications, experience, and career level.
