MERKUR Excellence, based in Raaba near Graz, is seeking a Senior Technical Artist (m/f/d) to join our game design and development studio. You will own visual and technical quality, bridging concepts and high-performance Unity implementations.

Responsibilities include designing and optimizing complex graphical systems, creating animations and assets, writing shaders, and mentoring team members to uphold technical best practices across the production pipeline.

Qualifikationen

• Several years of professional experience as a Technical Artist in gaming or real-time 3D.
• Advanced expertise in Unity shader development and scripting is preferred.
• Strong understanding of real-time rendering, optimization, and performance constraints.
• Creative mindset with high technical ownership and problem-solving ability.
• Very good English; German is a plus.
• Proven ability to mentor others and collaborate in cross-functional teams.

Aufgaben

• Own the visual and technical quality of our games and ensure a high-end, consistent player experience across projects.
• Design, implement, and optimize complex graphical systems and assets with a focus on performance, scalability, and fidelity.
• Translate concepts into robust technical solutions and help define the architecture of visual game systems in Unity.
• Create and oversee animations, 3D models, simulations, and prototypes; integrate with shaders, tools, and scripting as needed.
• Mentor teammates, review implementations, document workflows, and uphold technical best practices across production.
