Magna Steyr Fahrzeugtechnik GmbH & Co KG in Graz seeks a Space Systems Expert / Senior Systems Engineer with a strong background in spacecraft development. You will lead system architecture, drive verification & validation programs, and coordinate cross-disciplinary teams across mechanical, electrical, software and manufacturing domains.

The ideal candidate has a Master’s degree in a relevant field and at least five years in aerospace, with fluency in English and German, and practical MBSE

Qualifikationen

• Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in aerospace/space industry.
• Strong knowledge of systems engineering processes and lifecycle management.
• Experience with requirements engineering, system architecture development and verification & validation.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Fluent in English and German, both written and spoken.
• Experience with spacecraft, launcher, payload, or propulsion system development.
• Knowledge of ECSS standards and MBSE practices.
• Familiarity with tools such as DOORS, Enterprise Architect, STK; experience with ESA, Airbus, OHB, ArianeGroup, Avio, or New Space organizations.

Aufgaben

• Define and maintain system architecture, baselines, requirements and traceability.
• Lead system trades, technical decision processes and performance assessments.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams across mechanical, electrical, software, manufacturing.
• Develop verification, validation, qualification and flight-readiness strategies and testing.
• Prepare compliance documentation aligned with customer and program requirements.
• Serve as primary technical interface to customers, suppliers and partners.
• Identify technical risks, define mitigation plans and lead technical reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, QR, FAR).
• Support proposal preparation, business development and internal reporting.
• Mentor junior engineers and drive engineering excellence.
• Demonstrate expertise in propulsion or space mechanisms with environmental testing and standards.
