We are supporting an international organisation undergoing a major SAP S/4HANA transformation and are looking for a Senior SAP Master Data / MDG Expert to take a leading role in building and improving global master data governance.

This is a strategic position with significant influence over data quality, process standardisation and the future SAP data operating model.

The Role

You will take ownership of key master data governance activities, with a particular focus on SAP MDG, material master data and S/4HANA transformation.

You will work closely with business process owners, IT teams, data stewards and senior stakeholders to establish sustainable governance processes and ensure high-quality, harmonised master data across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Take technical ownership of SAP MDG and support the implementation of governance rules and processes
• Lead master data migration, cleansing and harmonisation activities during the transition from SAP ERP to S/4HANA
• Drive the design and standardisation of material master data processes
• Identify and manage process deviations, exceptions and data-quality issues
• Develop and implement data governance standards, controls and KPIs
• Support the development of a sustainable MDG operating model, including change and release management
• Work with business and IT stakeholders to simplify and optimise end-to-end processes
• Support material classification, versioning and relevant PLM/data integration topics
• Help establish and develop the organisation of material master data ownership and stewardship
• Train and enable key users, data stewards and business stakeholders
• Contribute to continuous improvement and process harmonisation initiatives
• Act as a trusted advisor to process owners, transformation leads and senior management
• Support the wider S/4HANA programme with a strong focus on data standardisation and governance

Your Experience

We Are Looking For Someone With

• Several years of experience in SAP Master Data Management
• Strong knowledge of SAP ERP master data processes
• Practical experience with SAP MDG and ideally SAP S/4HANA
• Experience working on large-scale SAP transformation or implementation programmes
• Strong understanding of end-to-end business processes and process optimisation
• Experience with data migration, cleansing, harmonisation and governance
• Previous project or workstream leadership experienceAbility to translate complex business requirements into practical SAP solutions
• Strong analytical, strategic and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management abilities
• Experience training or supporting business users and data stewards
• Fluent English and the ability to operate effectively in an international environment
• A proactive, structured and hands-on approach with a strong sense of ownership
• Willingness to travel when required
