BAWAG Group in Austria is seeking a Senior Leasing Expert to lead the development, governance and automation of leasing risk processes across easyleasing. You will shape decision frameworks, oversee residual value management and strengthen fraud prevention, while driving efficient and compliant underwriting.

This role requires a university degree in Finance/ Economics/ Business Administration or Mathematics, at least five years in leasing or credit risk, and fluency in German and English.

Role Purpose

The Senior Leasing Expert is responsible for the development, enhancement and governance of leasing risk processes, decision frameworks and operational controls across easyleasing. The role drives automation and digitalization initiatives, strengthens fraud prevention measures, enhances residual value management, and contributes to sustainable growth through efficient and risk-adequate leasing processes.

Your Responsibilities

• Leasing Process Automation and Digitalization
• Drive automation, digitalization and system enhancement initiatives across the leasing lifecycle.
• Define business requirements and coordinate implementation with IT, Operations and business stakeholders.
• Support the development of automated underwriting and decision engines.
• Improve process efficiency, data quality and straight-through processing rates.
• Residual Value Framework and Asset Risk Management
• Redevelop and maintain the residual value framework and decision matrix.
• Monitor residual value performance and recommend risk mitigating measures.
• Support the development of asset-specific risk parameters and portfolio monitoring standards.
• Coordinate with external providers and market experts regarding asset valuations.
• Fraud Prevention and Operational Risk Management
• Design and enhance fraud prevention controls across leasing origination and servicing processes.
• Identify emerging fraud patterns and recommend preventive measures.
• Support implementation of automated fraud detection and monitoring capabilities.
• Perform root cause analyses and coordinate remediation activities.
• Leasing Risk Framework and Governance
• Enhance overall leasing risk management standards, policies and governance structures.
• Ensure alignment with regulatory requirements, Group policies and internal control standards.
• Develop management information, KPIs and risk reporting.
• Support audits, regulatory reviews and implementation of remediation actions.
• Credit Decisioning and Override Governance
• Review and assess policy exceptions and override requests.
• Ensure overrides are appropriately justified, documented and monitored.
• Analyze override trends and recommend policy or process improvements.
• Support delegated authority and decision governance frameworks.
• Process Improvement and Strategic Projects
• Lead initiatives to improve retail and SME leasing risk processes.
• Identify operational inefficiencies and implement sustainable solutions.
• Support new product development, market expansion and portfolio optimization initiatives.
• Act as subject matter expert for leasing risk, underwriting and asset financing topics.

Your Profile

• University degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Mathematics or similar.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in leasing, credit risk management, underwriting or risk operations.
• Strong understanding of asset finance, residual value risk, credit underwriting and fraud prevention.

For this position, the collective agreement stipulates a minimum annual gross salary of € 47.255,60 on a full-time basis. Depending on your experience and qualifications, we are willing to offer a higher salary.
