IMS Nanofabrication in Austria, with a Vienna subsidiary, is a global leader in semiconductor technology developing precision equipment for next‑gen chip manufacturing. In this Senior Project Manager role you will translate existing designs into a working prototype, uniting hardware, software and testing toward a customer demonstration.

You will lead cross‑functional teams across Engineering, Software, Procurement, Assembly & Test and Product Management, manage risks and milestones, and report

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering, physics, or related technical field or equivalent
• Several years of project management experience in complex equipment development
• Experience delivering hardware, software, and prototype testing projects
• Understanding of development, procurement and assembly processes and dependencies
• Structured, hands-on approach with ability to set priorities when information is incomplete
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and deliver without direct line authority
• Strong communication and stakeholder management in English

Responsibilities

• Assess current project status: design readiness, procurement, and outstanding work
• Build and maintain an implementation plan with scope, milestones, responsibilities and resources
• Lead prototype realization from procurement to hardware/software integration and customer demonstration
• Coordinate Engineering, Software, Procurement, Assembly & Test, and Product Management to align priorities
• Track progress, costs, and resource needs; manage risks and changes
• Coordinate integration and verification activities for prototype readiness for demo
• Provide progress reports and decision proposals to Steering Committee

At IMS, we develop cutting edge precision equipment that globally enables advanced semiconductor manufacturing. In this role, you will turn existing designs for our next tool generation into a working prototype, bringing together hardware, software, and testing. Your goal is to deliver a prototype ready for a customer demonstration.

Your Responsibilities

• Assess the current project status, including design readiness, component availability, procurement progress, and outstanding development work
• Build and maintain an implementation plan covering scope, milestones, responsibilities, resources, and acceptance criteria
• Lead prototype realization from procurement and assembly through hardware and software integration, testing, and customer demonstration
• Coordinate Engineering, Software, Procurement, Assembly & Test, and Product Management to align priorities and resolve dependencies
• Track progress, costs, and resource needs, and actively manage risks, changes, and technical or organizational roadblocks
• Coordinate integration and verification activities to ensure prototype performance and readiness for the customer demonstration
• Provide clear progress reports and decision proposals to the Steering Committee and drive agreed actions to completion

Requirements

• A degree in engineering, physics, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
• Several years of project management experience in complex equipment development, preferably in semiconductor equipment or a comparable high-tech environment
• Experience delivering projects involving hardware, software, system integration, and prototype testing
• A sound understanding of development, procurement, and assembly processes and their dependencies
• A structured, hands‑on approach and the ability to establish priorities when information is incomplete
• The ability to lead cross‑functional teams, establish clear ownership, and drive delivery without direct line authority
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain technical progress, risks, and decisions clearly in English

With us you will receive an attractive annual gross salary from 70.000 € (plus bonus, KV Metallgewerbe). Depending on your experience, this can also be higher.
