Zusammenfassung

A prestigious music university in Vienna is seeking a part-time lecturer to engage in teaching and supervision within the Instrumental/Vocal Pedagogy program. The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree and at least three years of proven experience in music education. Responsibilities include independent teaching, advising students, and participating in departmental projects. Excellent communication skills and proficiency in German and English are required. Offer Description
  • Independent teaching and examination activities within the study area of Instrumental/Vocal Pedagogy, particularly in the academic/theoretical components (Overview of IGP, academic seminar in music pedagogy, pedagogical laboratory, fundamental issues in instrumental and vocal pedagogy).
  • Participation in various forms of study advising in the BA IGP program (introductory and mentoring events).
  • Supervision of seminar and study projects as well as qualification papers in the IGP study area; participation in entrance examinations.
  • Contribution to the continuous development of the department’s teaching and learning formats (including digital formats) and to university-wide networking.
  • Where applicable, involvement in the department’s projects as well as in organizational and administrative tasks of the institute (including curricular development, cooperation with the network of music-school mentors, or website-related tasks).
  • Participation in evaluation measures and quality assurance processes.
  • Participation in organizational and administrative duties as well as evaluation tasks.

Salary: Taking into account at least 3 years of previous experience in the field, the gross monthly salary is €2.201,90 (14 times).

  • A completed degree in Instrumental/Vocal Music Education or Music Education (at least MA/Mag. level or equivalent).
  • Proven artistic-pedagogical experience of at least three years in instrumental or vocal instruction.
  • Experience in music-education research, evidenced by a well-designed ongoing or completed doctoral project in the field of music pedagogy.
Specific Requirements
  • Excellent knowledge in general instrumental/vocal didactics and pedagogy as well as the related theories and discourses; ideally complemented by one of the following areas of specialization: digitality, trans-/interculturality, gender, diversity, inclusion.
  • Experience in university-level teaching.
  • Strong communicative and social skills (for teaching and supervision as well as for collaboration within the team of lecturers).
  • Experience in academic teamwork and in organizational tasks.
  • Willingness and ability to pursue further pedagogical and professional development.
  • Experience in acquiring external funding.
  • Very good German and good English language skills.
