Job summary

UN Atlas seeks a senior legal consultant with extensive international and national nuclear law experience to support the Nuclear and Treaty Law Section. You will handle legislative, regulatory, and contractual matters essential to safe, secure, and peaceful nuclear technology.

The role involves teaching and presenting lectures in workshops, participating in missions, and advising governments on legislation. A national bar admission and 10+ years of relevant experience are required.

Qualifications

• Admission to membership in a national bar or equivalent legal professional body is required.
• Proven ability to prepare legal drafts and provide advice to governmental bodies and other stakeholders is essential.
• Minimum of ten years of relevant legal experience, including international experience or advising governmental officials on nuclear matters.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized expertise in international and national nuclear law, including legislative, regulatory, and contractual aspects.
• Participate in IAEA missions and related activities as needed.
• Review and advise on draft and enacted legislation related to nuclear safety and civil liability.
• Develop and deliver content for workshops and training courses to transfer knowledge to Member States.
