A leading engineering firm in Austria is seeking a Senior Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer to lead their E&I engineering team. We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Engineer to lead our E&I engineering team.
Reporting to the Executive General Manager, this senior leadership role is responsible for providing technical direction, mentoring team members, and ensuring the safe, efficient and compliant delivery of all E&I engineering activities.
The successful candidate will play a key part in driving standardisation, improving design quality, and strengthening CS GAS’s reputation for engineering excellence across a variety of complex and regulated projects.
Technical & Project Delivery:
Provide technical leadership to the Electrical and Instrumentation team, integrating team experience while ensuring compliance with relevant standards and codes.
Review and approve (RPEQ) all electrical, instrumentation and control system documentation.
Deliver E&I design deliverables on time and to required standards.
Produce hazardous area classification reports and related documentation.
Conduct power system calculations, specify key electrical equipment and instruments.
Lead and contribute to design reviews, risk assessments, HAZOPs and multidisciplinary design integration meetings.
Support commissioning, testing and troubleshooting of operational assets and new systems.
Develop operational and maintenance deliverables, including plans and procedures.
Liaise with suppliers to ensure the adoption of cost-effective and technically sound solutions.
Strategic & Continuous Improvement:
Identify and implement standardisation and best practice initiatives to improve quality, efficiency and scalability.
Drive continuous improvement within the E&I engineering discipline.
Contribute to accurate project scoping, estimates and cost control to ensure on-budget, on-schedule delivery.
Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical).
Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ – Electrical).
Demonstrated experience in the design of electrical, instrumentation, and PLC control systems.
Proven capability in Hazardous Area design and documentation.
Strong computer literacy and communication skills.
Experience with commissioning and testing electrical systems.
Certificate IV in Hazardous Areas.
Additional qualifications in Business or Project Management.
Experience with Quality Management Systems.
Qualified Technical Person
Experience across Oil & Gas, Mining, CSG, or industrial manufacturing sectors.
Familiarity with earthing and lightning protection system design.
