Job summary

Bitpanda is hiring a senior DevOps Engineer to strengthen our AWS-based infrastructure and drive high-performance, scalable systems. You will work across engineering squads to automate, monitor, and deliver features using Terraform Cloud, ArgoCD, and Confluent Cloud.

We value 6+ years in AWS, Kubernetes, and Terraform, with Python/Go and Kafka familiarity. A hybrid work model with on-site Vienna days and remote collaboration awaits you, plus stock options and strong benefits.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience with AWS-based infrastructure and services (EC2, RDS, EKS, KMS).
• 3+ years of Docker, Kubernetes/EKS and Terraform experience.
• Proficient in CI/CD tooling (GitLab CI/CD) and ArgoCD.
• Experience with Python or Go and messaging/streaming tech (Kafka).
• Knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB).
• Able to collaborate across engineering squads and drive automation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance infrastructure using AWS, EKS, Terraform Cloud, and Confluent Cloud.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve systems and deliver new features.
• Monitor, upgrade, and automate systems for stability, security, and performance (Datadog, Opsgenie).
• Extend Terraform codebase and CI/CD pipelines to speed feature delivery.
• Architect scalable solutions and drive infrastructure as code practices.

Your mission Join Bitpanda s dynamic team to drive the evolution of our cutting-edge infrastructure, ensuring seamless scalability and high performance. Empower millions of users by leveraging the latest technologies and your DevOps expertise to create innovative solutions.

• Develop and enhance our infrastructure using AWS, EKS, Istio, ArgoCD, Terraform Cloud and Confluent Cloud.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve systems and develop new features.
• Monitor, upgrade, and automate systems to guarantee stability, security, and high performance using tools like Datadog, Opsgenie and AI.
• Enhance our Terraform codebase and CI/CD pipelines to support rapid feature delivery.
• Architect and implement scalable solutions for complex technical challenges.
• Drive automation and infrastructure as code practices to streamline operations.

Who you are

• Over 6 years of experience with Expertise in AWS-based infrastructure (EC2, RDS, EKS, KMS etc.).
• Minimum of 3 years of experience with Docker, Kubernetes/EKS and Terraform.
• Proficiency in CI/CD tools such as GitLab CI/CD, and some experience with ArgoCD.
• Experience in Python, Golang, Kafka is preferred.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases including MySQL, PostgreSQL on Aurora/RDS, MongoDB, DynamoDB, and Redis.
• Enthusiastic about new technologies and able to build strong relationships across various engineering squads.
