FIIG is progressively rolling out a full business platform integration capability. The objective of this initiative is to support business optimisation, and leverage technology to achieve a high standard of customer service and efficiency across FIIG’s entire business. This staged implementation must be designed and implemented in a way that ensures minimal impact to normal business operations.

Senior Developer role responsibilities
  • Performing enhancement and maintenance on FIIG's Microsoft .NET Core based Web Platform.
  • Performing other operational enhancements and maintenance on FIIG’s systems to support migration to the new platform.
  • Participating in design workshops, and assisting in the development / review of target state designs and data migration strategies.
  • Leading a team of offshore developers and testers who will deliver the technical outcomes.
  • Pro-actively identifying areas of business / technical risk, and where improvements can be made to improve quality and efficiency.
  • Performing deep analysis of features within the legacy trading system and transferring this knowledge to business and technical audiences.
  • Playing a supporting role in improving / managing the tools, systems and methodology used within the FIIG.

The new business platform will be predominately based on a cohesive set of configurable commercial products. Some custom build will be needed to meet specific business requirements, integration needs, and for interim measures needed to facilitate transition.

What will you be doing
  • Perform enhancement and maintenance on FIIG's Microsoft .NET Core based Web Platform.
  • Perform operational enhancement and maintenance on FIIG systems to support migration to the new platform.
  • Develop test cases and unit tests to ensure high quality code is delivered.
  • Provide technical insight and assist in the development and review of strategies and designs.
  • Perform investigative analysis on existing systems in order to baseline current state.
  • Lead a team of offshore developers and testers who will deliver the technical outcomes.
  • Assist with the development of suitable methodologies, standards and principles.
  • Identify potential areas of process improvement (in the business and in the project) and raise these for discussion.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of the organisation.
  • Provide accurate estimates for assigned work to project management.

Essential skills
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in software development with demonstrable knowledge working with React and RESTful APIs utilizing the latest .NET Core (C#) Framework. Knowledge of microservice driven architecture is an advantage.
  • Experience with React and Angular in addition to knowledge of CSS, SCSS, Typescript and JavaScript.
  • Experience with writing effective unit tests. Test-driven development experience is highly regarded.
  • Solid experience in responsive UI / UX design.
  • Experience using Git and merge requests.
  • Experience with CI/CD build and deployment automation and release management using Azure DevOps.
  • 5+ years of experience with writing SQL queries. MSSQL experience highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of software development methodologies and experience with Visual Studio 2019, Visual Studio Code and Microsoft SQL Management Studio.
  • Experience leading an offshore team of developers and testers.
  • Experience developing design documentation.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and to react positively to shifting priorities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to identify and raise issues early.
  • Committed work ethic and accountability.
Desirable skills
  • Relevant tertiary qualification.
  • Previous experience within finance industry.
