Job summary

Join is seeking a Senior AI/ML Engineer (Python) to join as a long-term contractor (B2B) or on a work contract, based in Vienna, Austria. The role involves developing AI/ML models, deploying solutions, and collaborating with teams across EU institutions and government clients.

The ideal candidate has a university degree in IT, 7+ years in IT, and 5+ years building data pipelines and AI-driven decision-support systems, with strong experience in PyTorch, TensorFlow, and ONNX.

Qualifications

• University degree in IT or relevant field.
• 7+ years of IT experience and 5+ years in data processing pipelines.
• 5+ years of AI/ML based decision-support systems.
• 5+ years developing software using Python.
• 5+ years developing DL solutions for image data (CNNs).
• 5+ years with PyTorch, TensorFlow and ONNX.
• Experience with LLMs or multimodal models processing image data.
• Experience with JSON REST services and SOA architecture.
• Experience with ClearML or similar platform.
• Knowledge of real-time object detection and image segmentation (YOLO).
• Familiarity with Windows and Linux; Git.

Responsibilities

Currently we are looking for a skilled Senior AI / ML Engineer (Python) to join the team as a long-term Contractor (B2B) / Freelancer or on a work contract.

Based in Vienna, Austria.

Tasks

• Development of AI/ML models;
• AI solution analysis, design and implementation;
• Deploy machine learning models and AI solutions into production environments;
• Propose adequate machine learning models to extract valuable insights;
• Support the development of generative AI solutions;
• Contributing to the design of the IT architecture considering master- and meta-data management concepts;
• Engage with various teams, analyze business requirements and translate them into AI solutions.

Requirements

• University degree in IT or relevant field
• Minimum 7 years of relevant working experience in IT;
• More than 5 years of experience in the design and implementation of data processing pipelines;
• More than 5 years of experience in the design and implementation of AI/ML based decision support systems;
• More than 5 years of experience in developing software packages using Python;
• More than 5 years of experience in developing Deep Learning Solutions for processing image data (convolutional networks);
• More than 5 years of experience in major AI software frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow and model formats like ONNX;
• More than 5 years of experience in applying software engineering principles;
• Experience with developing Large Language Models or multimodal models processing image data;
• Experience with building JSON REST, including building and deployment of service-oriented architecture components;
• Experience with ClearML or similar platform for streamlining AI development and deployment;
• Knowledge of models for real-time object detection and image segmentation (e.g., YOLO);
• Familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems;
• Familiarity with Git source control;
• Excellent command of the English language.
