Zusammenfassung

Reboot Monkey is seeking a Freelance Data Center Technician to deliver on-demand support for global data centers. You will install and troubleshoot servers, networking gear, and virtualization in a largely remote, flexible role with on-site travel as needed.

You will manage Linux/Windows systems, configure networks, document tasks, and ensure security compliance while collaborating with remote teams. Strong independence and communication are essential.

Qualifikationen

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or IT preferred but not required.
• 3+ years of data center operations experience, including freelance projects.
• Hands-on experience with Cisco and Juniper devices.
• Strong Linux and Windows administration and patch management.
• Solid networking knowledge: TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, VLANs.
• Certifications such as CCNA/CCNP, JNCIA/JNCIS, or CompTIA Linux+ desirable.
• Willingness to travel to data center locations on short notice.
• Flexibility to work outside regular hours including nights and weekends.
• Own tools and equipment for data center tasks.
• Strong problem-solving and independent remote collaboration skills.
• Excellent communication with remote teams.

Aufgaben

• Install, configure, and maintain servers, networking equipment, and other hardware to ensure uptime.
• Monitor data center operations remotely and on-site; diagnose issues to minimize downtime.
• Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Cisco and Juniper networking devices.
• Manage Linux and Windows systems with updates, patches, and security improvements.
• Document installations, repairs, maintenance tasks, and system performance for remote teams.
• Implement and maintain security protocols to protect data center infrastructure.
• Collaborate with remote IT teams, vendors, and stakeholders on projects to improve operations.
