Zusammenfassung

Freshfields is seeking a committed associate (f/m/x) with a strong interest in regulatory public law and foreign direct investment to support our Vienna team. You will deliver ad hoc advice on complex regulatory matters, support transactional work across industries, and help shape litigation strategy in administrative proceedings.

Fluency in English and German and an Austrian legal background are essential, with international exposure welcomed.

Qualifikationen

• Austrian legal studies degree or equivalent preferred.

Aufgaben

• Deliver ad hoc advice on regulatory public law matters amid legislative changes.
• Support regulatory public law aspects of transactions across regulated industries, including trade law and sector-specific regulatory requirements.
• Prepare submissions and advise on litigation strategy in administrative courts and product recalls/regulatory regimes.
• Advise on FDI filing requirements and investment screening under Austrian law.
• Prepare and manage FDI filings in sensitive sectors (defence, energy, data centres, telecoms, healthcare, AI).
• Coordinate FDI filings across jurisdictions with international teams to secure regulatory approvals for cross-border M&A.
