Silicon Austria Labs (SAL) seeks an R&D Process Engineer focused on thin film deposition to advance sputtering-based processes for research and prototype fabrication. You will ensure tool health, coordinate maintenance, and support multi-stakeholder research activities in a dynamic environment.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in industrial FAB deposition, hands-on PVD experience, and strong skills in process control and Lean methodologies. Willingness to relocate to Villach is required.

Qualifikationen

• Master’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field (Materials Science, Physics, EE) required.
• 3+ years as a deposition process engineer in industrial FAB; 5+ years preferred.
• Hands-on experience with sputter deposition tools (PVD).
• Experience with process control, SPC, CIP, Lean, and maintenance principles.
• Ability to work with multiple stakeholders in a research-driven environment.
• Willingness to relocate to Villach, Austria.

Aufgaben

• Develop, monitor, and optimize thin film deposition processes (primarily sputtering) for R&D and prototypes.
• Maintain tool health and stability via performance tracking, SPC, and preventive maintenance coordination.
• Support researchers using deposition tools, ensuring safe operation and quality.
• Lead or assist in tool upgrades, process improvements, and new equipment evaluation.
• Document process parameters, tool performance, and experiments for traceability.
• Interface between fabrication team and research groups to enable process development and experimentation.
