CERN’s OSI Department invites you to join the Scientific Information Service to design, develop and operate backend applications, APIs, and data processing workflows using Python and Django. You will integrate AI capabilities, Large Language Models, semantic search, and data-intensive pipelines, while ensuring quality through testing, CI, and monitoring in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifikationen

• Strong professional experience in Python and software engineering with Django or a comparable Python framework.
• Experience with data-intensive applications or data processing workflows.
• Good understanding of modern Large Language Model technologies and their integration into software systems.
• Experience with AI technologies and their application to scientific information use cases.
• Development of production software with API design and relational databases.
• Knowledge of software testing, monitoring, and CI/CD practices.
• Architecture and design of scalable ICT systems and data-intensive applications.

Aufgaben

• Develop, maintain, and operate scientific information applications using Python and Django, including APIs and data models.
• Integrate machine learning and AI capabilities into production systems, including LLMs and semantic search.
• Evaluate emerging AI technologies and apply them to scientific information use cases.
• Ensure software quality through automated testing, code review, monitoring, and CI.
